AITFM participates in the 5th 'Belt and Road' China-Malaysia Business Dialogue and Business Expansion Exhibition

On December 13, 2024, Clarence Chan, the acting Chairman of the Association of Innovative Technology Finance and Marketing, attended the 5th 'Belt and Road' China-Malaysia Business Dialogue and Business Expansion Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia."

Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, this conference was themed 'Looking to the Future, Sharing New Opportunities for China-Malaysia Cooperation.' It brought together government agencies, business representatives, and industry organizations from both China and Malaysia. This event provided an important opportunity for extensive international exchanges, deepening regional integration and international cooperation, and promoting industrial globalization.

For China, the participating representatives included local government representatives from 12 provinces and cities such as the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Yunnan Province, Hubei Province, and Shaanxi Province. Business associations and well-known high-tech enterprises included the Shenzhen Municipal Government Procurement Association, ShenZhen Non-Governmental Organization Federation, Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, Shenzhen UAV Industry Association, Shenzhen Sensors and Intelligent Instrumentation Industry Association, Shenzhen City Virtual reality Industry Association, and Shenzhen Retail Business Association, among others.

 

For Malaysia, nearly 200 leading enterprise representatives from various sectors such as agriculture, food, fast-moving consumer goods, tourism, and manufacturing, organized by the Malaysia International Trade Promotion Association, attended the event.


The conference began with a keynote speech by Ma Hui, Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Speeches were also given by Ouyang Yujing, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia; Khairul Firdaus, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture of Malaysia; and Fong Tian Yang, Director and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Malaysia-China Business Council. They expressed that the friendly cooperation between China and Malaysia has a long-standing history and that people from all sectors and fields of both countries are willing to work together to implement and promote high-level and high-quality development between the two countries, creating a bright future together.


During the signing of the cooperation memoranda, the parties reached a consensus on various projects and areas, including government procurement and business matching, infrastructure construction, the 'Two Countries, Twin Parks' project in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, Compass Industrial Park, Johor Industrial Park, agricultural product trade, digital transformation and AI innovation, tourism cooperation, palm oil logistics, exhibitions, and cross-border e-commerce. A total of 13 memoranda of understanding were signed, with a total value of 26.4 billion RMB.


During the 'Green and Sustainable Development' themed exchange session, representatives from the Chinese and Malaysian business sectors shared and thoroughly discussed the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of emerging technologies and green development.


During the industry matching session, nearly 300 enterprises from China and Malaysia actively participated.


The representatives of China shared practical experiences and achievements in the context of globalization, as well as the cooperation and development prospects of industries such as industrial parks, food, cross-border e-commerce, and drones in the Malaysian and Southeast Asian markets. They encouraged enterprises to seize new opportunities for cooperation brought by the Belt and Road Initiative and regional advantages.


The representatives of Malaysia introduced local green investment opportunities, the new investment location digital platform (MYSite Selection), and highlighted the relevant details of the Malaysia International Machinery Fair. They expressed their anticipation for Chinese enterprises to come and explore investment opportunities, fostering cooperation and mutual advancement.


Additionally, the contact-matching session employed an innovative free-movement discussion format, laying a solid foundation for practical cooperation between companies from both countries. Representatives from various sectors such as low-altitude economy, cross-border e-commerce, logistics services, food safety and technological innovation, virtual reality, and medical science research actively interacted. They shared industry information face-to-face with potential partners, broke down industry barriers, and discussed future cooperation prospects. The atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic.
